The Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary recently held its June 2017 meeting at St. Andrew’s U.C. in Bayfield. This is always a special occasion as it is one that bestows honours on some of their Auxiliary members deserving of being recognized in a special way.

This year the auxiliary was proud to acknowledge Mary Peel and Gerda Abbott. A few months ago Mary moved to an apartment at Huronlea in Brussels where she now has a small garden and her bird feeder. The Auxiliary appreciates all the help Mary has given to the auxiliary.

Gerda likes to garden and knit. She has knitted many lovely things for the Gift Shop. She is also the buyer for their Gift Shop. The Auxiliary thanks you for all your hard work and are looking forward to many years to come.

They are very appreciative of all the help both of you have given to the auxiliary in the past and they presented each with flowers and a certificate of honour.

As the Auxiliary looked over their Auxiliary records, they couldn’t help but recognize the amazing number of years of your dedication to the Clinton Public Hospital Auxiliary.

You began this journey in 1957 and 1958. Within a very short period of time, each of you became President of CPH, along with enjoying your young families.

The Auxiliary is so impressed by the variety of Special Events that happened in those years, for instance Vanishing Parties, Special Teas, Hat Shows and the Wear & Tear Fashion Show, Donna, do you recall your “White Swan Bridal Gown“?

These two ladies continued their dedication by accepting the honour of being HAAO Provincial President and Secretary in 1981, followed by President and Secretary of the Canadian Association of Health Care Auxiliaries in 1990.

What an outstanding accomplishment by both of you!

The Auxiliary invited all their members and friends in attendance to show their appreciation, as we present a token of their Thanks!!!
